Restraint Is a Skill

As Ramadan begins it brings with it a change in rhythm, a change in pace, for sure a change in energy. Sometimes sharper energy, other times slower reactions. At its core, it is restraint, a time to practice. Welcome to a special month of the year.

Most of the year we consume automatically. This month brings a beautiful interruption to that and with it some nice questions. The overarching and very powerful one…..what happens when you don’t act on impulse?

Training effort is somewhat easy, easy to measure for sure. Training control is a different beast but one we must master if we want the metrics to change in our favour.

Whether you fast or not, try to pause at least once daily before reacting, take a moment, think, be, ask a question, see if an answer arrives.

Perhaps the real discipline isn’t always doing more, it’s being in control and being happy.

Have a great month.

No Weakness,

Marcus
