July Members of the Month

InnerFight: MICHELE FURLAN & SARA BOSICH

This month, we’re celebrating a powerhouse duo: husband and wife Michele Furlan and Sara Bosich, who have demonstrated an incredible amount of commitment and teamwork. This month, after three months of training and hard work, they’ve had one goal in sight: to step onto the start line of their first HYROX race together. And they did just that, finishing it in under 90 minutes. Along the way, Michele has lost over 20kg since joining InnerFight. Both have trained consistently and with purpose, stepping way outside of their comfort zone to prepare for a style of racing that’s entirely new for them. Congratulations, Michele and Sara, this is just the start, and we look forward to what's next!

Youth: MILLIE BARBER

Millie Barber is our July Youth Member of the Month! While relatively new to our program this year, she has already made incredible strides. We've been so impressed with her progress, especially her recent move up to our Kids+ program, where she's been absolutely crushing it! Millie didn't hesitate for a second when joining her new classmates. She jumped right in and has shown immense dedication, working hard in every single session. What truly stands out about Millie is her commitment to moving well and her strong work ethic, making her an excellent partner during activities. It's been a joy to witness Millie's growth in her fitness journey this school year, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things she will do in the year to come. Congratulations, Millie!

Endurance: SLAYDE BAKER

Slayde Baker took on Challenge Roth at the start of the month. A full-distance triathlon in the beautiful German countryside, known as the best Triathlon on the planet! It was Slayde's first full-distance Triathlon, swimming 3.8km, cycling 180km and running 42.2km to finish it off! Amazing work Slayde, well done!

Ladies Run Club: SAKHI MALLYA YOUNG

Sakhi joined LRC right as we approached summer, but she was not going to allow the weather to stand in the way of her goals. Sakhi has embraced Ladies Run Club with hard work and dedication, despite travel disrupting routine. Well done for leaning into the process this month, Sakhi. We are very excited to see you thrive this coming season.

Endurance - Ireland: CIARA CONNELLY

There were many challenges before the actual challenge; this journey really defined the idea of it never being linear, but you trusted in our every move, showed up for every session, communicated the doubts and kept cool. Then on race day, under pressure from the cut off points, you managed it all on the fly, got it done and all with a massive smile on your face. Congrats on being our Member of the month! No Weakness.

Endurance - New Zealand: REUBEN POTAKA

Reuben has been with InnerFight Endurance New Zealand since the beginning. He’s a supportive unofficial TIC and is steadfast in his running journey. He could easily pass up the opportunity to better himself through endurance but he’s chosen to fully invest and is happy enough to have his wife coach him :) With a background in rugby and short, sharp powerful sprints, running doesn’t come naturally to him. His speed bumps have included back, achilles and calf injuries but they have only fuelled his fire to want to run comfortably and consistently. His goals are to run two to three and strength train two to three per week - when you commit to building these non-negotiables, the only way is up. Reuben has seen huge improvements in his speed and run efficiency because of this. He’s proof that anyone can run if they put in the rehab/prehab work, have patience and know their weaknesses to improve from. It’s about time my TIC got some kudos for being an athlete that listens and acts on feedback, a pseudo coach when I’m sick or on Mum duty and for always bringing the baking tunes to Track Tuesdays and events.
