Where You Actually Are
The first anchor is the one most people avoid.
Where are you actually?
Most of us answer from memory.
We quote a number from a good month two years ago, then build a plan around a person who is not currently in the room.
Honesty is not self-criticism. It is data.
Weigh in. Time the run. Test the lift. Write it down.
Then the harder question.
When did somebody who knows what they are looking at last assess you?
Self-assessment has a ceiling.
We are generous with ourselves on the bad days and brutal on the good ones.
A coach is not there to be nice.
They are there to tell you the truth and then do something useful with it.
No Weakness,
Marcus
