The InnerFightway

To the Floor!

We can learn from cars in more ways than one. I often use the analogy that putting diesel in a petrol car is about as useful as putting junk food in a human. Neither will get very far.

The car has another feature that we should have a think about. The accelerator. A light touch just nudges the car forward. When we need to get somewhere fast, we apply more pressure. Cruising the highway we just keep consistent pressure and the car rolls beautifully.

By contrast without this control of the foot to the accelerator. Just drilling it firmly to the floor for every occasion would be carnage. More car park smashes than we dare to think of. Folded front ends and of course, a mailbox full of speeding fines and black points. These are just the external signals. Not to mention what the insides of our cars would look like.

Motor cars versus humans. So many differences. So many similarities. Constantly drilling the human accelerator to the floor not only serves up monumental externalbreakdowns in us but also destroys our internal engines and wirings.

Let’s learn when to push our accelerators to the floor and when a light touch or no touch at all is the best thing to make us better at life.
