February Members of the Month

InnerFight: Bianca Berenguer
This month, Bianca showed exactly what it means to commit to a goal and follow through. She stepped outside her comfort zone, embraced the challenge in front of her, and carried herself with quiet determination and intent.
Behind her performance at the Masters Games is consistent effort, trust in the process, and the willingness to keep showing up and doing the work here in the gym!
We’re incredibly proud of what she has achieved and the example she sets for those around her. Congratulations, Bianca!

Youth: Emma Philippou
Emma has been working incredibly hard and it shows! She recently hit a deadlift PB, and we couldn’t be prouder.
She’s always up for a challenge, gives 100% every session, and brings a fantastic attitude to class. Keep smashing it, Emma!

Endurance: Vainius Kaleda
Vainius, known to us as VK is our February endurance member of the month!
VK took a completely different approach to his training and racing in January and February. Less triathlon-specific sessions, more exploration and time seeking out hard things that challenge him to dig deep. DCS half-marathon, The GOAT trail race and Al Salam MTB race - all of it in a month leading up to IRONMAN 70.3 Oman. Building great mental and physical resilience, paired with a relaxed mental state due to constant exposure to racing environments accumulated in a 20min course PB!
Congrats VK. We roll onto ITD and then begin building towards the IRONMAN 70.3 World Champions!

Ladies Run Club: Carla Flannagan
Carla chips away at her training every week at LRC and has been showing up since Dec 2023. This month we have seen Carla race locally and most recently completed the RAK Half Marathon. Carla has a can do attitude, welcoming presence and continues to get better at life. Well done Carla!

Endurance - New Zealand: Angela Smith
Congratulations to Angela Smith for being our Member of the Month for February 🔥
Angela has been chasing Coast to Coast dreams for over six years, training across all three disciplines with relentless commitment. Last year threw her a brutal curveball when a concussion just 2 weeks before race day ruled her out. With months off, a patient return to sport progression, and plenty of resilience later, Ang came back hungrier than ever for the 2-Day Individual 2026.
This year, she didn’t just make the start line, she finished strong taking a massive 2.5 HOURS off her last 2-day race time from 2020. She's too humble to give herself enough credit for the years of consistency, grit, introspection, and questioning her why she has undertaken to get here. Ang has the kind of mindset that keeps moving forward even when life throws her a whole lot of adversity.
Ang continues to embody what it means to be an InnerFight Endurance athlete: adaptable, hardworking, and always focused on finding that extra 1% in training and in life. What’s been especially powerful this season is how much she’s leaned into mindset shifts and building her self belief by trusting her training, listening to her body, backing her decisions on race day, and stepping onto the start line knowing she belongs there. 2025 was a big job, with a big training load, and big goals - having coached her for over 2 years now, this performance was a special one to witness.
Ang, your resilience and determination are next level. You have a massive influence and are an inspiration in our community. From a coaching perspective, you keep proving what’s possible
