In the last few years we have seen an explosion of Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) around the world and across the Middle East. George Crewe recently joined the InnerFight Endurance coaching team to focus specifically on OCR.
In this show we chat:
Where did it all start
What do the races look like
Training for OCR
The Death Race
Origins of OCR are thought to be routed in the depths of the British winter where a gentleman by the name of Mr Mouse seems to be the one that started all this mayhem asking his participants whom he recruited by hand written letters to come to his farm in the cold of January each year. The reward for the leaders of the races was being the first people to break through the ice of ponds whilst many others went home with Hypothermia.
Since it’s inception over 10 years ago OCR and more specifically the Spartan brand have grown at an incredible rate and attracting a vast following of people who are now achieving things they never thought possible. These races test you, sometimes break you down but as George tells us in this show, they always leave you wanting to come back for more.
